Offends meaning to be emotionally injured, angered, or irritated. Many people have been offended in their walk with God as a result of challenges they have encountered. As Christians, we will face many difficulties in our walk with God, including persecution. Persecution has turned many Christians away from God's love because they have been insulted as a result of the persecution. We may have all experienced emotional pain before since we were expecting God to come and deliver us instantly or shortly after, but it took some time for us to feel relief.

The reason why so many Christians are doubting God's existence at this point in time is that they have had one or more emotional setbacks. Offenses are quite risky. Some have already given up.

Matthew 11:6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Are you offended in Jesus?

Are you offended by the persecutions that have come your way? Do you believe you are cursed because people oppose you whenever you proclaim the truth?

You are a bond-servant of Jesus, and you share His cross-suffering. Men come up against us in a variety of ways just because they despise Jesus, but God adores the one who continues to reach out and remain righteous.

Matthew 10:16-25Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

Will you believe how many pastors have left or abandoned their calling because of offenses? Some have lost their pleasure in Christ because of emotional suffering and aches caused by the trials they face in life. Many have abandoned their faith, leaving behind the rewards for which they have labored for years or decades. It's like a man who touches the plough and then abandons it; according to the Bible, such people are not entitled for recompense.

John the Baptist, who baptized Jesus Christ and saw evidence of Jesus Christ a son of God by the signs and wonders that occurred, dispatched his disciples to question Jesus if He is the Messiah.

Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

John was presumably expecting Jesus Christ to arrive and perform miracles or at least visit him in prison, but Jesus did not appear, and he was offended.

When people are offended, they begin to doubt the things they have believed and even testified about.

That is why many pastors find it difficult to persuade people to return to Jesus after they have strayed. The word can never become rooted in their hearts again, and it is difficult to bear fruit at that point.

A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

Ask God to help you and have mercy on you in end time so that you will not be offended. May He take away temptations and keep you for His second coming.
